Block Launches First Consumer Bitcoin Ad Campaign, Touting It as an Everyday Currency
Fintech company Block has launched its first large-scale consumer advertising campaign to promote Bitcoin as an everyday payment method.Blockchain Reporter reported on October 3 that Block launched the "Bitcoin Does" campaign on October 1. The campaign targets about 60 million Americans who are interested in Bitcoin but have never owned it.Block is positioning Bitcoin not as a speculative or investment asset, but as a currency for everyday use. The ads depict people using Bitcoin in daily life, including buying flowers and splitting a meal with friends.The campaign features Block's core services: Cash App, Square and Bitkey.Miles Suter, Block's Bitcoin lead, said Cash App, Square and Bitkey are making Bitcoin easier to access and use. He added that the campaign is the company's first large-scale effort to show what a Bitcoin-centered financial system could look like.
