Bloomberg Taps Allium to Bring Onchain Stablecoin Data to its Terminal

Bloomberg launched a stablecoin dashboard on its Terminal Wednesday, giving financial professionals direct access to onchain data on stablecoin supply, issuance and transaction activity.According to the press release, the dashboard draws on data from blockchain analytics platform Allium and covers stablecoins with more than $100 million in circulation, a group that represents over 98% of the market, according to Bloomberg. Terminal users can compare stablecoins by supply, mints, burns, transfer volume and velocity, and break activity down by blockchain network and peg type, including those backed by fiat currencies and commodities.Matthew Parkinson, Bloomberg's global head of digital assets product, described stablecoins as an increasingly important part of institutional digital asset markets, particularly as firms examine how cash and assets can move within tokenized financial infrastructure. He added that the company's goal is giving clients the same rigor, transparency and integration they expect from Bloomberg across traditional markets.Allium co-founder and CEO Ethan Chan framed the launch around institutional demand for reliable data, noting that institutions want the same certainty in onchain data that they already have in traditional markets. The dashboard is accessible to all Terminal subscribers through the RWAS function, placing onchain data alongside Bloomberg's existing fixed-income, foreign exchange and money-market tools.Bloomberg's Terminal serves as a core platform for banks, asset managers and other financial professionals, providing real-time market data, news, analytics, trading tools and communications. The company has carried Bitcoin pricing since 2014 and currently supplies pricing, reference data, identifiers and benchmarks for 50 cryptocurrencies.Stablecoin market capitalization has climbed above $306 billion, according to DeFiLlama data, with Tether's USDT accounting for roughly 60% of that total.
