Darkfost Says Linking a 20% U.S. Stock Correction to Bitcoin at $10,000 Lacks Historical Support
Crypto analyst Darkfost says the forecast that a 20% correction in U.S. stocks would send Bitcoin to $10,000 is too extreme and lacks sufficient historical support. According to ChainCatcher, a drop to $10,000 would represent a decline of about 87% from Bitcoin’s current price and a drawdown of roughly 92% from its all-time high.Bitcoin’s maximum drawdown exceeded 92% only in 2011, Darkfost said. Maximum drawdowns were 82.5% in 2015, 82.6% in 2019, 74.4% in 2022 and 54.2% in 2026.Darkfost also noted that Bitcoin fell about 80% in 2018 when the S&P 500 declined roughly 19.53%. But in April 2025, when the S&P 500 fell by more than 19%, Bitcoin dropped only about 22%, he said.
