FBI Reports $1.7 Billion in Scam Center Losses as West Africa Operation Arrests 28
The FBI said losses tied to scam centers have reached $1.7 billion, while a coordinated law enforcement operation in West Africa led to 28 arrests. According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. Department of Justice said the weeklong operation also removed more than 3.7 million online accounts, pages and groups, and identified more than $11 million in potentially frozen funds.
