OriginTrail: OT-RFC-27 Proposes Paid Inference for the Decentralized Knowledge Graph - 06 Sep 2026

OriginTrail has opened OT-RFC-27, a request for comment on paid inference within the Decentralized Knowledge Graph. The proposal asks the community how the protocol should settle and reward metered, node-to-node paid inference, the read-side counterpart to paid publishing, so that verifiable neuro-symbolic AI responses carry an explicit payment path. The RFC introduces a read-side TRAC payment mechanism to complement existing paid publishing. If adopted, each metered inference request would settle in TRAC, tying protocol revenue to actual AI query volume rather than only to knowledge graph writes. That gives TRAC a demand driver on the read path, where usage is expected to scale with adoption of verifiable AI applications. The settlement and reward design remains open, so the community discussion determines how fees split between node operators and the protocol. For holders, this is a concrete tokenomics change to evaluate while the parameters are still negotiable.RFC introducing the most profound enhancement to TRAC tokenomics since its inception.Paid publish to DKG (write) is getting its counterpart in paid inference from DKG (read). Both AI models and knowledge graph used to produce paid, verifiable neuro-symbolic AI responses.
