Solana: Solana DvP introduces an open atomic settlement standard - 06 Oct 2026
Solana DvP introduces an open, MIT-licensed standard for institutional delivery-versus-payment settlement on 6 October 2026. The J.P. Morgan-informed standard uses isolated escrow to settle both legs in one atomic transaction or neither. The production release is still ahead.Atomic execution binds delivery and payment to the same transaction outcome, preventing one side of the exchange from completing without the other. The open license makes the standard available for institutional settlement implementations. For SOL, the institutional adoption narrative rests on institutions using this settlement model. The announcement establishes a standard, but does not establish production use or actual institutional settlement flows.Until now, institutions settling onchain have typically relied on bespoke smart contracts.Solana DvP gives them a shared, open standard for atomic delivery-versus-payment, with input from J.P.
