PayAI Network's x402 batch settlement is live on Solana today in public preview. The feature lets merchants bundle many micropayments into a single payment channel, with periodic claims and payouts instead of individual on-chain transactions. PayAI states this cuts network fees from thousands of dollars to under $1 for high-volume micropayment flows.The mechanism addresses a structural cost problem: settling each micropayment on-chain makes small-value payments uneconomical once fees exceed the payment itself.
