Vitalik Buterin Says Ethereum Roadmap Could Have Taken Until 2040 or 2050 Without AI
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said artificial intelligence is significantly accelerating Ethereum's technological development.Wu Blockchain reported on Oct. 10 that Buterin, speaking in an interview at Network State Conference 2026, said the current Lean Ethereum roadmap might not have been completed until 2040 or even 2050 without AI, given its goals and technical complexity.He added that AI is now handling a significant share of research and coding work, greatly speeding up progress on the roadmap.
